The Institute for Conservation and Breeding of Valencian Agrodiversity (COMAV), as a research institute of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), is devoted on the conservation, promotion and utilization of agrodiversity, including large collections of landraces of vegetables (mainly Solanaceae, Cucurbitaceae, Brassicaceae and Phaseolus). At the COMAV Institute scientists develop many breeding activities and strategies, including breeding for low-input conditions and, as part of it, breeding for organic farming (particularly Solanaceae).
