Grietje Raaphorst-Travaille

Grietje Raaphorst-Travaille is a passionate seed producer.

She is working since 1990 with, for and as a breeder and founded in 2002 together with her husband, Nordic Maize breeding. As they developed very early maize varieties, Grietje produces seed of the NMB varieties in the Netherlands in close cooperation with farmers. 

Arable farmers fit the maize seed production as a resting crop into their rotation. 

Grietje is a big promoter of the intercropping of winter cereal with winter pea after their early maize which allow farmers to grow more protein themselves and feed their animals with more diversity.
